Neck Lifts

Laxity of the skin and/or muscle tissue of the neck can make us look older.  There are different types of procedures to correct this issue.  Sometimes they will be done to complement a lower face and neck lift or by themselves to recreate a younger jaw line.

Platysmal plication is a surgical procedure done with local anesthesia in the office where the sagging platysmal muscle bands are sewn back together again to decrease vertical neck bands and sagging tissue under the chin.

A Submentoplasty removes the extra/bulky tissue under the chin so that the skin can re-drape upwards and be smoother.  It is performed thru a small incision, made with radio frequency, through the crease under the tip of the chin.  Local anesthesia is used to perform this small procedure safely and comfortably in the office.

If you have excess skin in the neck area but the underlying muscle structure is good, you may find the Laser NeckLift is the option for you.  The Laser is used to tighten the skin from the inside, sometimes reducing the neck size by several inches. This procedure, done with tumescent anesthesia through 3 or 4 tiny incisions, is often combined with liposuction if there is excess fat under the chin.

A permanent, anatomic, silicone chin implant can be placed at the same time to enhance the results of any of these procedures. (Genioplasty)
