Lower Face and Neck Lifts

Multiple factors play a role in how we look as we age.   The subcutaneous fat volume in the face decreases in thickness causing the skin to look less radiant, wrinkled and hang.  Excess sun exposure will cause a breakdown of elastin and collagen in the skin, making it sag even more.    Loss of bone density, a receding chin, or poor orthodontia also cause the lower face and neck to look saggy.  Whatever the cause or combination of causes, a lower face and neck lift will help address this by removing the excess skin and re-suspending the facial muscles that have fallen.  This produces in a younger looking you.  Improving lower face, chin, neck, and jaw line contour, this procedure is performed in the office with a radio-frequency scalpel, local anesthesia, and mild sedation.

Incision lines are very carefully hidden in the hair line, around the ear and behind the ear in the hair to make them less visible, especially for patients who have shorter hair styles or like to wear their hair up.  As with all surgeries there is some bruising and swelling post-operatively so plan for a week or two to recover from a primary lift and about a week  to 10 days before going back to work after a demi/partial lift.

Temporary and permanent fillers, silicon chin implants, laser skin resurfacing and other light and laser modalities may be used to enhance your result.  Blending multiple modalities together helps achieve a more natural looking, long lasting rejuvenation.  The key is in the experience, artful eye and scope of technologies available to the surgeon!
