As we age, we lose facial volume. The Liquid Facelift is a procedure that utilizes fillers to replace facial volume loss, recreating the fullness of youth. There are multiple fillers available today that can be utilized for a liquid lift. In our office we use mainly temporary fillers like hyaluronic acid gels (Restylane, Perlane and Juvederm) and the calcium based product (Radiesse). These fillers will last anywhere from 6 months to two years.
Artefill is a more permanent filler and has been known to last over five years. It is used mainly in the smile lines, but can be used to achieve a permanent correction in less mobile areas of the face.
Sculptra is a different type of product. It's not really a filler, but an activator that helps your body to make its own collagen. Sculptra is best when used in younger patients. The very natural looking results are achieved gradually and can last for two years.
These products can be used individually or together to very carefully rebuild the three-dimensional fullness of your face and improve the sheen and texture of your skin. This procedure is a series of multiple injections with fine needles. Topical anesthesia is always used for comfort. Some fillers are actually mixed with anesthesia. Local blocks are offered as well. The Liquid Lift can be done in one or two sessions or gradually over several months to achieve the result you desire. As with any procedure there can be some swelling and bruising for a few days.
Non Surgical Rhinoplasty
Thinking about changing your nose? If we can do something non-surgical that can change the appearance and make you happy wouldn't that be a lot easier than surgery? Another procedure that has become possible with the newer fillers is the 5 Minute Nose-Job or non-surgical rhinoplasty. If there is a bump or depression on your nose that you don't like, you can have filler injected to minimize its look. If your nose is flatter and wider you can have filler injected to round, soften and lengthen its' contour. If the tip of your nose is starting to droop you can inject filler into the columella (the strut of tissue between the nostrils) to help push the tip back up. A non-surgical rhinoplasty is for cosmetic corrections only.
Topical anesthesia and sometimes several injections or local anesthetic keeps this procedure easy and comfortable. As with any procedure there can be some swelling and bruising for a few days, but the results usually last a year or more once you get the contour you like.
