Blepharoplasty or Eyelid Lifts

Are you concerned that your eyes are looking tired, puffy or old?  Maybe you don’t like the way your eye makeup seems to disappear under your lids or the folds of extra skin?  Perhaps an eyelid “lift” or Blepharoplasty is in your future.  This procedure will remove excess skin, fat and/or muscle in the upper and lower eyelid area.  Performed in the office by Dr Zimmerman with CO2 Laser, local anesthesia and a little oral sedation, this procedure has a very rejuvenating effect and long lasting results. 

Any incisional surgery will leave some visible scar.  With upper blepharoplasty, the scars are hidden in your eyelid crease, as much as possible, so that when you open your eye they are mostly hidden.  With lower blepharoplasty, we use a trans-conjunctival approach (meaning the incision is precisely, with the CO2 laser, through the inside/pink membrane of your lower eyelid) so there is no visible scar.  You may have some bruising and swelling for a week or so after the procedure, so plan on some time off from work.

Depending on your overall skin texture, brow height or facial volume loss, Dr Zimmerman may suggest other procedures to compliment your blepharoplasty to give you the best possible result.
