Brow and Forehead Lifts

As we age the eyebrow/forehead area start to deflate and fall.

People may think that they need their upper eyelids done, but all that extra upper lid skin is really due to the fallen brow/forehead complex.  To correct this, the forehead/brow needs to be lifted and sometime re-inflated to where it used to be.  Forehead and brow lifts have been done for decades and many techniques are available to accomplish this procedure.  The most acceptable cosmetic result is generally one that has smaller/fewer visible scars. This can be done with several minor incisions hidden in the superior and temporal hairline where sutures can be placed to support the brow tissue similar to an endoscopic surgery, but without the cost of the equipment.  Extra tissue may or may not be removed and the incisions hidden.  You can also reposition the hairline more forward while removing excess skin, with the scar hidden behind the hairline.  Other ways of accomplishing this is to do a full coronal cut across the top of the head to pull up all the excess skin. This sometimes raises the hairline to an unnatural height, tends to result in numbness and is no longer the preferred surgery for this condition.

These surgeries are performed comfortably and safely in the office with local anesthesia and a radio frequency scalpel usually resulting in less bruising and bleeding and better healing. Re-inflation with fillers or fat, which cause brow elevation independently, can be used alone or in concert with the surgical procedure.
